The NYS HPV Vaccination Honor Roll is an annual award program sponsored by the NYS HPV Coalition that recognizes medical practices in the state with the highest or most improved HPV vaccination completion rates (meaning that the child has received the two recommended doses). There are two main types of awards: Statewide and Regional. The criteria to determine the winners for each type of award are listed below. Data are derived from the NYS Immunization Information System (NYSIIS) and the City Immunization Registry (CIR).
Criteria for Awards
HPV vaccination completion rates by the 13th birthday for boys and girls
Statewide Awards
HPV High Honor Award: practices at or above 90% HPV vaccination completion rates
HPV Honor Award: practices at or above 80% -<90% HPV vaccination completion rates
Vaccination percentage point rates compared among practices at same time point from past year (award year).
In good standing with the Vaccines for Children Program or VFC (i.e. administered > 90% of VFC doses received).
>200 thirteen-year-old patients in the practice which applies to both the baseline and end of award year.
Regional Awards
HPV Honoree: Most Improved Award
Two practices with the largest percentage point increase in each region
Compare practices in each region by percentage point change over the past year.
The percentage point increase must start at or above the statewide practice average from the beginning of the award year.
In good standing with VFC.
>50 thirteen-year-old patients in the practice which applies to both the baseline and end of award year.
10 Regional HPV Honor Roll Award areas: Capital, North Country, Mohawk Valley, Mid Hudson Valley, Central NY, Southern Tier, Lakes, Western, NYC, Long Island.
